SAND

Sand er utrolig morsomt. Jeg er like glad i "sandkassa" i dag som jeg var for masser av år siden. OK, leken har forandret seg litt opp gjennom årene, men fascinasjonen er den samme.

Photography and CGI

For some time now I have played with the thoughts about blending computer 3d graphics and my photography together. In my earlier days I loved to model, not modeling as a photographer would think, but creating 3D sculpture as cars, humans, buildings and other strange stuff. Well that was for about 10 years ago. The principal on modeling have not changed and the rules of light applies for a 3d model as it do in real world photography. So getting the hang on it again was not as hard.

The possibilities is huge as I see it, when you don’t have the wanted location. Why not just build it in a cgi environment.

One image from a ongoing project.

And several images from a finished project.

Selected work from art photographer Tom Garretson

Tom Garretson is an American-Indian/Norwegian artist working in the fields of art photography, music, and writing.

When he was 15, he was introduced to the music, films and art of the Weimar period of Berlin between the wars, by an elderly German librarian. The kindness of that woman has never left him, and he has always felt indebted to her for teaching him about German Expressionism, Surrealism, Dada, and about the films, theater and art works of that period. It continues to influence him today.

He received his education in Musicology, Composition and Poetic Drama at New York University, and studied Jazz Guitar at Loyola School of Music in New Orleans. He is currently studying art photography at the Oslo School of Art Photography (Oslo Fotokunstskole) until May of 20
