Guardian Angel "Benjamin Kanarek"

Born in Toronto, Canada, where he grew up. He was never quite sure what he wanted in life and fell in to many things by accident.
He played drums in a few punk rock groups, one of which was called the "Existers" that was produced by John Cale and another called the "Poles" that had a semi successful hit called "Telex Love". In the subsequent time frame he entered Carleton University where he studied Architecture and went on to work in several companies including Webb, Zerafa, Menkes & Housden.. who were best known for designing the CN Tower in Toronto.

Floating Venus "Linda Cartridge"

LINDA CARTRIDGE

FLOATING VENUS

22 nd of April to 28th of May 2010

In water,on it, below it or sideways Linda Cartridge she comes up with her mental eye and technology by creating spaces of vitality and poetic suggestion.

For a year and a half the artist was submerged in pools with different models for an experience of prenatal, primary and Basic.

The works are intended to attract viewers to the female germ broth has created. It is an invitation to return to g with the intention to suggest freedom of the primitive, that they Orly have the fluids  of the fetus and mother, it should perhaps be felt in the original big Bang, creating cracks, breaks and new rebirths.

Venus floating is a sample of photographs taken in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Oslo which exceeds, in the way of work, the genre. Using analog photography-made Films as a first material, manual intervention will subsequently work on negatives, Photo by photo, camera by camera, resulting in Works base on the picture and end up in other genres.

Her iconic Hasselblad is like a pencil with which Boceta basic lines of the final Photo. Craft touches and some digital intervention timely, necessary poetry reaches to say what you mean. She has succeeded in changing the medium, leaving the air by the mother liquor, leading to feminine strength, subtle and without interruption at sites where we seem to have been.

LINDA CARTRIDGE
Muestra: VENUS FLOTANTE

William Ropp

(lives and works in Nancy, France)
William Ropp is known for the unique style in which he captures the mysterious aspects of human nature. Placing his subjects in absolute darkness during extended exposures, he uses a flashlight to paint a magical effect of illumination and shadow in what he calls ‘The dance of light’. ”My pictures were influenced by me working at the theatre, and I struggled to liberate myself from theatrical expression. This continued until I stopped using actors as models, replacing them with ordinary people I met.” Ropp often works in a studio, using a powerful torch as illumination, forcing him to expose for as long as ten minutes. In the darkness the models have little to focus on, and their stare is redirected towards the viewer. Seemingly coming from a different time, these human beings unify ancient mysteries and timeless questions in their appearances. William Ropps images takes us to different levels of reality and invites the viewer to occupy with the anthropological question of being and non-being. In his portraits of children their facial expression does not fit in the presentation of the ever-cheerfull child. The viewers childhood emotions and memories might be awakened.
Ropp produces his own richly toned, traditional gelatin silver prints. His photographs have been exhibited extensively in museums and galleries around the world, and his work has been published in several books including one devoted to the Children series, as well a twenty-year retrospective, and the recently published “Dreamt memories from Africa” (april 2010)

A “little” rain never hurts "Kihle Photo"

A “little” rain never hurts
Hooked up with Oskar Mellemsether and Vegar Edvardsen for a shoot here in Trondheim. We wondered over to Ilsvika, a part of town which offers a wide variety of backgrounds. Without any real plan about how the images were going to be or where to take them, we wondered around in the rain stopping at random spots. I’m very thankful for my Dakine Sequence backpack for keeping the equipment dry (one of the best buys of my life!). A fun shoot and now we’re all waiting for summer and sun which has not yet come.
